Facilitator notes

At Atlassian, we set time aside for leadership to be clear with teams about what's changing and what isn't. The concepts on this page are ours; your organization may land on different ones. Giving teams a clear point of view builds confidence and sets expectations for what they should learn next.

    Evolution of craft

Every quarter, we spend time helping our teams identify the changes AI will have on their roles, setting clear expectations about what changes and what stays constant.

The content in this section is focused on product management and design, but you can apply the same structure of training to any impacted craft.

    Explain what does not change

Tell people which parts of their craft still matter. For product teams, that includes judgment, taste, customer understanding, and clear decision making.

Show where AI changes the work

Show practical examples of work that is now faster or easier. For product teams, this may include prototyping, querying customer data, or testing concepts directly.

    Make the team workflow explicit

Ask teams to look at how they learn, decide, and act together. AI tools help most when the team workflow is clear enough for people and agents to follow.
